COOPER AMERSTON
It seemed like a nice town. It was small, unique, quiet. Although, to him, it could be a little too quiet. He had just moved here and so far he had done nothing with himself. He tried to apply to a few places for jobs but he hadn't heard a reply anywhere yet. He had been here for about a week and had been staying in a hotel the next town down from Dogersville. It was about a 20 minute drive, and with the gas prices so high, it was killing him. He knew why he had to move here though. He would miss his little sister and his puppy back at home in California, but he told himself he would move on, and his thoughts became his reality. He wasn't too happy about it right now but he assured himself everything would be okay.
Cooper pulled up to the pool. The weather was about 86 degrees today and the sun was beating down on his car. His AC was going full blast the whole day down to Dodgersville. A dip in the pool would continue his tan for the soon summer. He parked in a parking lot that wasn't too full and walked inside the entrance of the building. It was definitely a pool due to the smell it had. Chlorine. He wore his red swim trunks that were outlined in a white, Hawaiian-type flower pattern and a plain white shirt with black flip flops. His towel was wrapped around his shoulder and he carried sun block in one of his hands. He waited at the desk for a little while until he realized a sign that was posted by the pool entrance. "Free Day" it read and relief passed over Cooper's body. He strutted out to the pool area and found a chair near a tree, in case he needed shade later on.
The pool was great. It had a diving board on one end and lanes that separated the board from the slide. There was a kiddy pool close to the lifeguard station. That was a smart idea. he put the towel down on the ground and removed his flip flops. He glanced around for a moment before removing his shirt, revealing a few abs on their way to perfection. He grabbed the sunblock and applied it to his face, chest, and ears. His mom had always told him to apply sunblock because she herself had suffered from skin cancer. No need for him to suffer through it also. Once he finished with that he laid on his back on the reclined pool chair and closed his eyes. The sun felt great, but nothing compared to the sun in California. He would get in the pool soon.
