It was funny how things worked out sometimes. Hadn't she only met this guy last night? How could she be falling for him so hard? It couldn't be possible. All her life she had dreamed of a boy like him. She never expected it to actually happen. God must have been proud of her. There was no other explanation. When he spoke his name she couldn't respond. How does it work like that?
But that didn't matter now. All that mattered now was that she was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire in the middle of absolutely no where. And to make matters worse, her phone had died just five minutes before this happened, when she was on the phone with Justin. She could have saved those ten minutes of talking to him for later, and instead she could have called a cab. She didn't want to be stuck on the side of the road all night.
She made sure her flashers were on before she got out of the car. She figured she would at least try to find the spare, and the jack, and the leverage to get a new tire on. She had never learned how to change a tire. This would be interested. Definitely interesting. Usually the tire is under the car, right? She'd give it a try. She knelt down under the back bumper of the car. No tire. How was this possible? Maybe God wasn't proud of her afterall. Otherwise this wouldn't happen. She climbed back in the car. It was dusk. The night was coming, and fast.
She noticed the headlights of a car behind her and she gasped with excitement. Opening the door to the car had never been so fast. She waved her hands up and down, and she looked as if she was attempting to do jumping jacks. Not possible for this girl. But unfortuntely for her, the driver had no heart, and continued to speed past the pulled-over car. People were so cruel sometimes.
